So I’ve been thinking how it’s been a minute since I’ve done a book tag and I recently saw this really fun one over at Life and Other Disasters called the ‘Get to Know Ya’ book tag! So for today’s post, I’m going to take a stab at this tag and get a little more personal 🙂 Be sure to check out Kat’s tag too linked above!
Let’s get into it–
. . .
Get to Know Ya Book Tag!
Favorite Book of All Time
It would have to be Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. I’d never read anything like the Otherworld series or fell in love with so many characters at once. Elena’s pack quickly starts to feel like your pack. The dialogue is hilarious and sexy…and something I’ve always loved about Kelley’s writing is that it’s set in real places, places I know, so even if she’s writing about werewolves or witches and demons, it feels like what’s going on is totally possible. I’ve never read another author who could make me feel like that.
Favorite Book Five Years Ago
Definitely Night World by LJ Smith – it’s a series about a bunch of supernatural characters basically facing the worlds ends and the humans they befriend (or fall in love with!) that band together to help them. I ate that series up and loved that each book brought new lovable characters while still being in the same universe.
It would probably have to be the Unwind Series by Neil Shusterman. The character growth and pace of the series is literally perfect and the ending for each of the kids we’ve traveled throughout the series with just leaves you with a feeling of ‘rightness’. The series raises some really interesting questions about society today and where were heading but hands down, I loved it for the characters!
Last Book You Read
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo! Currently almoost done The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon 🙂
Last Book of Poetry I’ve Read
Apart from an Anthology of Poetry from College, I actually don’t read much poetry – not because I don’t like it, just not my favorite genre!
What Book Most Influenced Your Life
If I Stay/Where She Went by Gayle Forman! I know I’ve talked about these a ton on my blog but that’s only because they mean so much to me, okay!? They inspired me greatly as a writer because of the way they were written and what sort of topics it covered (up until I read If I Stay, I felt rather morbid for writing about topics like abuse or depression but Gayle Forman’s unflinching take on grief changed all of that for me!). It also taught me that you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow – life is way too short to hold grudges, to not pursue your passions or tell the people you love how you feel about them.
Book That Made You Ugly Cry
Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon had the most heart-wrenching ending I’ve ever had to read! I just kept reading the last few pages like ‘no,no,no!’. That ending destroyed my soul.
Book That Made You Laugh
Definitely Hush,Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick – the one liners are so cute, clever and witty. I remember the first time that I ever read it, I could not put it down for anything! It’s very rare that I reread books but Hush, Hush was a major exception!
Character You’d Like to Be For a Day
It would have to be Octavia of the 100! I’m going to have to go with show Octavia because I haven’t had the chance to read the novels (they’re sitting on my TBR shelf, I promise!) but she is literally everything I love about a female heroine – strong-willed, fiesty…she refuses to surrender when she’s been knocked down and sticks to her beliefs no matter what. Her journey is as exhilarating as it is heartbreaking so rocking those braids and that sword for one day sounds perfect to me!
Book So Good You Dreamt About It
Never had a dream about a book sadly but I do get a lot of video-game dreams when I’m playing one a lot :p
Book You DNFed
I’ve actually never DNFed a book but there are a couple series that I kinda slacked on, including Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Claire…I swear, one day I will finish it!
What Book Are You Excited to Read
I’m actually really excited to check out Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott!
. . .
And that’s about it for today!
Did you like this tag? Good because then in that case, I tag you!
What’s your favorite book of all time? Tell me in the comments down below because this was by far the hardest question in the entire tag for me!
With that said,
Goodnight Wanderers <3
