How’s it going on your end?
I’ve racked up quite the list of tv show binging lately so I thought it was time I made a post to share some of the awesome ones I’ve been into lately! Without further ado -Here they are 🙂

7 Shows I’m Currently Obsessed With!
“More than 300 years in the future, society has been transformed by new technology, leading to human bodies being interchangeable and death no longer being permanent. Takeshi Kovacs is the only surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order. His mind was imprisoned for centuries until impossibly wealthy businessman Laurens Bancroft offers him the chance to live again. Kovacs will have to do something for Bancroft, though, if he wants to be resurrected”
Words cannot describe how much I loved every line of dialogue that came out of main character Tak Kovac’s mouth. I live for those sarcastic one-liner type characters. Altered Carbon is a gorgeous cinematic experience with a seriously addicting soundtrack and great characters that are complicated and quirky. A must watch for any fan of scifi – I binged through this one way too quick!
“Eight strangers around the globe find themselves connected — first by a violent vision, then by their shared ability to connect with one another’s thoughts and actions, and finally by the urgent need to find out what happened and why. Their need to know goes beyond simple curiosity — as they pursue answers, a mysterious organization hunts them down, intent on destroying them.”
So, if you’re looking for a show that’s unique, gorgeous, funny, has a good soundtrack and is well done – Sense8 is for you. Not only is the show’s plot totally mind-bending – honestly, after Cloud Atlas, I wouldn’t expect anything less from the Wachowski’s! – but I loved seeing both gay and trans characters get a focal point in here. It’s seriously not done enough! The genius effects coupled with the various gorgeous locations they shot at made for a really visually pleasing show that kept me hooked. Also…Kala and Wolfie though! AHHH I need to vent with someone how much I adore these two.
“The world as we know it has come to an end, due to a rain-carried virus that wiped out nearly everybody in Scandinavia. Six years after that event, two Danish siblings emerge from the safety of the bunker where they have been staying. After discovering all remnants of civilization gone, they join a group of fellow young survivors, and together they head out on a danger-filled quest throughout the abandoned land in search of signs of life.”
You know how much I love my international shows! The rain is a Dutch Netflix original about a group of kids trying to survive in a city plagued by rain that kills anyone who steps out into it. I LOVED the set, and thought it incredibly scary believable. Every character was interesting in their own right and each episode took time to describe each kids background which was very cool – no one was the person you originally suspected, which I really liked.
“Mr. Sunshine centers on a young boy born into a house servant’s family who escapes to the United States during the 1871 (U.S. expedition to Korea). He returns to his homeland later as a U.S. marine officer. He meets and falls in love with an aristocrat’s daughter. At the same time, he discovers a plot by foreign forces to colonize Korea”
Another visually stunning show, Mr. Sunshine is a historical Kdrama about an orphaned boy turned rebel, a noble girl who prefers guns over fans and a servant boy turned marine soldier. I love me a historical Kdrama because the past ones I’ve watched have been really awesome and so far, this one doesn’t disappoint! I love the strong-willed noble girl especially – she’s made it clear she won’t sit around or get married off while her country is going through turmoil and it’s awesome to watch unfold!
“Set in a storybook Connecticut town populated by an eclectic mix of dreamers, artists and everyday folk, this multigenerational drama about family and friendship centres around Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory.”
Okay so I know that I’m majorly late to the party for like every young girl ever but it’s got to count for something that I’m starting now right? I heard sooo much about Gilmore Girls when I was in high school but I never actually started to watch it myself until a couple weeks ago when I realized how much I needed to stop falling in love with netflix shows that only had 12 episodes. I’m currently about to start season 2 and loving the relationship between Rory and Lorelai! Can I just add how much I love Luke and Dean? I know that a certain Milo Ventimiglia joins the cast at some point and though he’s amazing…right now at least, I’m Dean all the way!
The Handmaid’s Tale
“Based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, this series is set in Gilead, a totalitarian society in what used to be part of the United States. Gilead is ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state, and is faced with environmental disasters and a plummeting birth rate. In a desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world, the few remaining fertile women are forced into sexual servitude. One of these women, Offred, is determined to survive the terrifying world she lives in, and find the daughter that was taken from her.”
Ahhh! So terrifying. So good. I’ve been wanting to watch this since my mom started freaking out over all the trailers and showing me excitedly. I finally caved and decided to watch with her and we’ve been loving it. It’s true what they say – the world of Gilead is a terrifyingly realistic landscape of what one day could be. The show has inspired me to read the book which I’m currently half-way through and will definitely be doing a book review on soon! :p
“James Hayes is a small town policeman in Yoorana, Victoria. He is called to the local cemetery in the middle of the night after seven people have risen from the dead in perfect health but with no memory of their identities.”
This show had be soo addicted and I have to admit – I was really depressed to find out it was only 2 seasons so far (8 episodes each). A couple years ago, I was in love with this French show Les Revenants – also about people rising from the dead – and suddenly, it was like every country wanted to take a stab at the story line. So I became really protective of my french version and refused to watch the American adapt or any other for that matter…but somehow, Glitch and it’s cast of unique characters hooked me! Especially Kirsty Darrow <3 I waited patiently (or not so patiently) every episode on the edge of my seat to find out her story.
