It’s been a beat since I did a book related tag and I recently saw this really awesome one called The Netflix Book Tag over on Kat’s blog. Go check her out at Lifeandotherdisasters🙂 She’s a fellow bookish soul, a writer who’s been teasing her novel on all the writing tags she does and in general just an awesome person!
I love binging shows on Netflix almost as much as I love spending hours curled up reading so doing this tag was a given :p With that said – let’s get into it!
. . .
The Netflix Book Tag!
RECENTLY WATCHED: The last book you finished reading.
Drums of Automn by Diana Gabaldon – it was a wild ride at some points as Outlander books always are but it was also one of the more calmer adventures Jaime and Claire have had which I was totally fine with. Review coming soon!
TOP PICKS: A book that has been recommended to you based on books you have previously read.
Two books I’ve been recommended to by my friends have been I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson and Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood. My friends have very different tastes as you can see xD But I’m extremely curious in both reads!
RECENTLY ADDED: The last book you bought.
Because I’m sad and obsessed – The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon. I fully intended to try and make a dent in my TBR, starting with Six of Crows (which I’m still reading) but I couldn’t not have the next Outlander book in my hands!
POPULAR ON NETFLIX: Books that everyone knows about. (2 you’ve read and 2 you haven’t read or have no interest in reading.)
Books I’ve read:
Fault in Our Stars by John Green & Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon.
Books I haven’t Read:
A Court of Thorns & Roses by Sarah J Mass and The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas .
COMEDIES: A funny book.
Faking It by Cora Carmack – I recommend Cora’s books to literally all my friends, particularly this series. I was just on the cusp of graduating college when I read Loosing It (the first book in this series) and so was the main character, Max. So I completely connected with her mindset and problems – plus she’s incredibly clumsy, shy and a horrible flirt just like me so I was really into Cora’s writing. Faking It is the second book in the series and my favorite out of the trilogy!
DRAMAS: A character who is a drama queen/king.
I actually had a lot of trouble with this one because I haven’t come across too many xD It’s an oldie but a goodie – Caroline in The Vampire Diaries. If you’ve seen the show, you know she grows out of her drama queen personality and becomes a strong heroine alongside Elena and Bonnie. But in the books – she remains a drama queen until she meets a rather tragic ending.
ANIMATED: A book with cartoons on the cover.
I recently posted a manga reading list – do any of those count!? If not…I’ve been dying to read Rainbow Rowell’s Carry On!
WATCH IT AGAIN: A book or series that you want to re-read.
I typically don’t re-read books but some I always come back to are If I Stay/Where She Went by Gayle Forman, Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr and Hush, Hush by Becca Fiztpatrick. They’re some of my favorite reads! …let’s face it my TBR is too big to go back right now xD
DOCUMENTARIES: A non-fiction book you’d recommend to everyone.
I don’t actually read much Non-Fiction unless they have to do with creative writing exercises or game-writing and those are more like text-book reads.
NEW RELEASES: A book that just came out or will be coming out soon that you can’t wait to read.
I’ve mentioned it a couple times before but I’m really excited for Jenna Moreci’s The Saviors Champion – not only is the cover gorgeous, but I’ve been loving all the character profiles and trailers Jenna’s been coming out with on her YouTube channel. It sounds awesome!
