Hope you had a good week! Mine was pretty busy but I’m hoping to enjoy some of the mild weather this weekend and get some writing done!
I’ve been unable to stop daydreaming all week about travelling for some reason and after hearing my close friend Ben say he’s looking into doing a semester in Ireland…it gave me the idea to do a post about the places that fuel my wanderlust!
For todays post, I’m talking about the top 5 places I’m itching to travel to – here we go! 🙂

5 Places I NEED To Visit!
Seoul, South Korea
Seoul easily became my number 1 dream vacation when I began learning Korean 2 years ago and becoming more curious about culture, customs and lifestyle. Besides all of their food pretty much being the source of my happy place, I love their language and there’s something about they way it rolls off the tongue that I just really like – is that weird? xD Besides just being immersed in the ultra modern feel of Seoul and visiting all the typical fangirl Kdrama hotspots, I’d love to visit more historical sites. After falling in love with historical drama Scarlet Heart, I have a hunger to learn about their history! What better way to get know a culture than actually be present in it.
This one is all thanks to Diana Gabaldons ‘Outlander’. I get the feeling this hits most readers who fall in love with Jaime and Claire. I’ve fallen in love with the mountains and woods, rivers and glens and all of the ruins that serve as the remains of the highlander way of life. Besides the breathtaking landscape, the linguist in me also adores the sound of Gaelic. So far I’ve only really looked at it through music…but I’m really tempted to take a class one day! It’s not a language I’d be using as much as my french obviously, but I really love the sound and flow of Gaelic! Also side note: Whiskey is the one and only spirit I can drink clean and enjoy. I think that says a trip one day is meant to be. I swear, in another life, I must have been Scottish. I never connected much with my English roots like I did my Italian – but I do love Scottish history.
I’m Italian on my mothers side and that’s where my grandfather grew up and spent most of his life before immigrating to Canada and meeting my grandmother! He was born in the north but I’m still unsure which city interests me the most since there are just so many beautiful cities! I can only hold a super basic conversation at the moment but I have a good ear for it and can eat my weight in pasta and pastries…I always thought it might be nice to travel to Italy and connect with my heritage! 🙂
Japan has such an amazing history of art, animation and gaming. Plus, of course, it’s home to Studio Ghibli and no one has inspired me the way Hayao Miyazaki has! I think visiting Japan would bring me so much inspiration 🙂 Though I only know a few words/phrases, (thaank you Terrace House), learning some more would be cool!
Thanks to the mysterious and bone-chilling tv show, Les Revenants, I’ve come to love the architecture in the city as well as the more rural side of France. Language is not a problem with this one since I speak French every single day of my life xP So I just want to rent a car, drive around, sip lots of red wine and take in the views! It would make for a really relaxing trip I think!
