So in honor of International Women’s Day which juust passed us, I wanted to do a Part 2 to a post I really loved writing not too long ago! I could go on about all of the kickass women in movies, books, shows, music and general pop culture popping up in the passed fee years but for today, here are —
6 More Heroines I’d Love to go on an Adventure With!
. . .
Aloy (Horizon: Zero Dawn)
I have been loving playing Aloy, a fiery girl who started out as an outcast among her people for not having a mother. Aloy trains hard as a kid to join a competition where the young in her tribe have to prove themselves as warriors. The winner gets whatever they want and all Aloy wants are the secrets of her birth and family. Not only is she a bad-ass fighter, but she’s noble, brave and inspiring. My favourite parts of the game were roaming around the wild universe with Aloy as she experiences a world she was never allowed to see before or what she makes of different tribes. Just like you, Aloy is seeing this whole world for the first time too and it’s so cool!
Two + Five (Dark Matter)
Okay this is a sliight cheat because it’s two people but I couldn’t pick one without the other!! I’ve been totally obsessed with the show Dark Matter lately – especially the characters Two and Five. The premise of the show is 6 people who wake up on a space ship with a bunch of sketchy cargo and no recollection of who they are or why they’re there. Usually space-related genres aren’t my cup of tea but i love this universe and it’s characters! Two is a strong and capable heroine who never needs (or wants) to be saved..even when she’s literally on her death bed because yes, she’ll still find a way to conquer that mountain herself.
Five is the youngest of the ship at sixteen years old and her actress (Jodelle Ferland) is actually the reason I wanted to see the show so bad! Five is a genius with tech and though she started off as a member who tended to hang back, this turquoise-headed addition to the team has proved to save her crew more than once by stepping up and in general, being one of the gustiest of The Raza ship!
Inej (Six of Crows)
I’ve only just started reading Six of Crows but at the moment I’m LOVING Inej. Her ability, to remain unseen, seems so cool and even just her name (The Wraith) is bad-ass. I already see how tender she is, caring for the quiet Kaz, despite all the noot so welcoming rumours that protect him like a wall. Her ability + her smarts seem like she’d make a really cool partner!
Claire Fraser (Outlander)
I’ve talked about how much I love Claire Fraser – not just in my book reviews – but literally in every space I can fit her in on this blog so of course she had to be on this list too! Claire, while not some classically trained warrior or ninja or magician, is strong in the most human of ways. She adapts quickly when she lands herself back in time rather than freaking out, or waiting to be rescued by someone else. She always attempts to save those she loves no matter how absolutely crazy it is. And as a talented surgeon, she never says no to the wounded. I just love her and her mind. She’s a strong female lead who never let’s someone tell her she can’t because by hell she will whether you like it or not xD
Raven (The 100)
And lastly, I had to mention Raven Reyes from The 100, a kick-ass addition to SkiKru. She’s not only lovable (if you ignore the prickliness) but she’s loyal and will put her life on the line for her crew. I loved her from the moment we met her but after suffering from an injury that leaves one of her legs permanently weak, I felt like she became even more of a bad-ass.
. . .
So those were my picks for 6 Heroines I’d like to go on an adventure With..pt.2 Do you agree with any of these ladies I chose? Who would you choose to go on a quest to save the world with? Let me know in the comments down below!
PS. Don’t forget to check out Part 1 of the post here!
Have an awesome weekend everyone!
