Sooo I recently saw this tag done over at Kat Impossibe’s blog Life and Other Disasters and it really got me thinking! We all love to talk about the couples we ship most in shows/movies/books etc but never really talk about the couples we desperately wish made it through the shipping storm. So I thought this would be a cool tag to do for todays post! Just beware, there maay be spoilers so treat these waters carefully!
Welcome tooo –
Romance Fails in Fiction Tag!
- Please PINGBACK to Kate @ Melting Pots and Other Calamities.
- You can choose ten romance fails from ANY media you like: books, movies, anime, manga, T.V shows, or Webtoons. You can even mix them up if you want.
- You can choose funny fails or serious ones; for the serious ones, phrase it humorously. Remember, this is a fun tag! It’s not meant to be serious.
- Mention who’s who in the fails. (I.E, who fails and who is the recipient of the failure). If there isn’t recipient, per se, just state the couple (or non-couple).
- Optional: Rank the failures from least extreme to most extreme.
- 5 failures at LEAST.
- Tag as many people as you want, but at least one person.
. . .
Clarke and Finn/Bellamy (The 100)
I couldn’t pick one. I’m sorry! Literally everyone I ship Clarke with dies or gets puts onto the back burner soo I decided shipping anyone with her is seriously back luck xD I was so upset about Finn and Clarke for months meanwhile my best friend Robyn was long gone on the Bellarke Express. Since then, I’ve jumped aboard filled with hope. And then Lexa came into the picture and was her own shipwreck of feels…Still waiting for Bellarke because I never learn.
Kate and Sawyer (LOST)
The first couple I ever shipped *sigh*. That whole polar bear cage chapter was the highlight of LOST for me. These two friends who understood each other like no one else could, really bloomed into this passionate force that I was so there for!! Andd then Juliet came around. Not going to lie, I was salty as hell the entire time her character was on screen so I was particularly happy with her ending. Is that horrible? But sadly, the damage had been done and Kate and Sawyer were no more.
Ji Hyun and Han Gang (49 Days)
I added these two because they are probably the shipwreck that hits me most in the feels. Currently re-watching it for the third or fourth time (don’t judge) and let’s just say that watching Han Gang fall in love with Ji Hyun all over again requires a lot of chocolate and Haggan Das.
Jenny and Nate (Gossip Girl)
Random couple? Maybe. Their stint on the six season show was so short you could blink and miss it but I loved these two together!! That scene where Jenny’s just started to go punk by changing her hair and Nate can’t stop staring? Sooo cute! Never ceases to make me smile.
Gale and Katniss (The Hunger Games)
I don’t mind this shipwreck as much as I use to. Back when I read the books, I knew that Katniss was going to end up with Peeta no matter how forced it felt because that’s just how YA rolls. However by the end of Mockingjay, I was kinda pissed that Gale all but stopped talking to Katniss and suddenly I didn’t mind them not getting together anymore.
Lexie and Mark (Grey’s Anatomy)
I need a hug too every time I think of the Slexie ship sinking. Shamelessly going to admit I quit Grey’s Anatomy after that episode. I was just done and that’s all I got to say about it.
Jan Di and Ji Hoo (Boys Over Flowers)
Little innocent me watched my first Kdrama ever, so very sure that Jan Di was going to end up with the sweet, caring, violin playing romantic Ji Hoo. And then my heart got stomped on as she slowly left him in the dust for his best friend Jun-Pyo. Ji Hoo is so sweet he even helped his two friends get together when they couldn’t figure their feelings out on their own. Who is that perfect and selfless!?
. . .
And there you have it!! Who are your favorite couples to ship? And who have you hated seeing become a shipwreck? Let me know in the comments down below 😀
Goodnight everyone, have an awesome weekend!!
