Self-Love Series: 5 Ways to Treat Yourself This Valentines
Meditate (Get Grounded)
This might sound like a weird first step but I do think clearing your mind is an important step if you’re going to relax all day. While I’ve never been much into flat out meditating, I’ve really been into yoga and tarot cards lately and that’s been my kind of way to get grounded. Working out or even going for run are also great ways to connect with your body and clear your mind but I have to say yoga (especially Savasna at the end,) really helps me set my intentions for the day and start on a positive note. My favorite yoga instructor to follow is Yoga By Candace! As for tarot cards, I got mine as a birthday present from Urban Outfitters and it’s been a nice way to start my day, especially when somethings been bothering me.
Blast Your Favorite Music
What’s the best thing about staying home alone? Blasting your music obnoxiously loud obviously. I don’t think you ever get old enough for that. The right music can put anyone in a good mood and it’s pretty much essential to any treat-yourself-day. Why? Because good music makes us smile, sing at the top of our lungs and dance, that’s why.
Grab Your Favorite Snacks & Binge Movies/Tv Shows!
Who says you need a date to get those Hershey kisses and conversation hearts? No one – ever. So march to your walmart or target, load up on all your favorite snacks and get back in bed with your favorite show or movie playing. Whether you’re going classic and playing some rom-coms or just catching up on something you like. I’m currently ripping through Heroes! I love Hayden Pannettiere and use to watch the show but it dropped off my radar around season 3 – this time I intend to finish it! What shows are you currently loving?
