Sooo I took a tiny break from blogging at the start of the week mainly because I was making huuge progress with my manuscript and didn’t want anything distracting me since it was going so well xD
BUT I’ve really wanted to share my birthday haul with you – lotsa books, something of kpop and a bunch of other random stuff! So let’s get into it!
What I Got For My Birthday!!
For my birthday, almost all of my birthday presents were book related – which is exactly what I wanted ❤ I got gift card to Chapters and ended up buying a couple of books I’ve been meaning to read for a while but never got my hands on. My aunt also surprised me with some Chapters ‘reading socks’ which are the long grey socks on my chair! They’re lined with faux fur and are so warm!
Books I picked up: Replica & Panic by Lauren Oliver, The Geography of You And Me by Jennifer L Armentrout, and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han.
Feeding My Outlander Obsession
I recieved this adorable, simple and dainty white mug (can a mug even be dainty?) that says ‘Je Suis Prest’ which is the Fraser motto in the books/show Outlander!
My best friend Kimberly also made the gorgeous Outlander themed cross-stitch work and bookmark! She is so artsy and talented and I love this! …Also I’m totally a doggy-ear person while she’s a bookmark kinda girl sooo maybe it’s secretly a hint xD
Kpop & BTS
I loved this Jungkook inspired top from the moment I saw it on AllKpop.com and thought it would look so cute with a pair of high-waisted shorts and a bomber or something :p Love the simple but playful design and Jungkook being my favorite member of BTS makes this shirt even more fun!
Adding To My Art Book Collection
Annd lastly, I received this GORGEOUS Rise of the Tomb Raider art book. When I saw the book online, it had looked like it had a flimsy cover and was half the size but I still asked for it because I am completely obsessed with this game and knew I’d love any art from the game. But when I unwrapped this, I was SO impressed with the quality! It’s a glossy hardcover with over 100 pages of art, taking you through the entire story of the game. Seeing how I threw the characters of my own novel into a situation where they’re surviving in an unforgiving wilderness, I definitely drew a lot of inspiration from heroines such as Lara Croft. This book is so so amazing and really inspirational for my writing! ❤
In The End, It’s All About The Experiences –
But presents aside, my two favorite ‘presents’ this year were the time I got to spend with the people I love. It was so much fun to to learn archery with my boyfriend and go for Korean food a couple days later with my best friends (we ordered sooo much food!) xD Overall, turning 22 and starting 2018 on such a wonderful note has made me really excited for what’s to come next this year!!
. . .
Before I say goodnight, I just wanted to thank you all for the birthday wishes and making 2017 so much more special – I’ve only had The Bookish Wanderer for about a year but once I started this, I couldn’t imagine not having this space to share with you wonderful, creative and awesome people! Thank you so much for stopping by over the year, dropping a sweet comment and giving me a chance to connect with you all – it’s been amazing and I can’t wait to keep it going in 2018! ❤
Have a great rest of your week and take it easy this weekend! 🙂
