Soo I finally did it and got my second tattoo 😀
Whoever said tattoos were addicting miight have been on to something – but in all seriousness this tattoo, like my first one, means something special to me and the results made me so happy!
So without further ado, let’s get into this storytime —
Storytime: Tattoo Number 2!
I knew I wanted something to represent the fact that I’m a writer but I went through a ton of ideas first. I thought about maybe doing a book quote or a lyric or something buut I ended up going with the quill because I thought it went well with the style of my babys breath tattoo on my tricep. I love the simple/minimalist and dainty look 😀
When it came to placement, I was so scared to get it on my wrist because I know it’s way more painful – seeing my friend get one on her wrist pretty much assured me this would be like death so I was pretty scared going in xD I got the idea to get in on the side of my wrist when I got inspired by Youtuber LaurDiy’s scissor tattoo. She said her scissors signified the fact that she would always love crafts and diys and from then on, my idea for the quill just clicked!
I also went with the same artist and tattoo parlour – Chris of Arenaline Ouest – so it took a lot of pressure off of me knowing he’d do something awesome for me!
The pain was SO much higher than on the back of my arm, since wrists are more boney/thin but I knew screaming and swearing wasn’t going to make it go any faster so I just tried to deal hahaha. Thankfully, the whole thing lasted 15 minutes so I was super grateful for that.
He morphed two pictures together that I gave him, since I had a specific idea of what I wanted for the feather (light and flowy) and a simple but clear point for the pen so that people knew it wasn’t juust a feather and it wasn’t too big either. For some reason I couldn’t find the perfect photo that had both of those elements, with some feathers looking stiff and some pens looking way too over the top and fancy for me – but I’m so happy with how this turned out! <3
I still have a few more tattoo ideas in the future buut I think I’ll be taking a bit of time off before I get too addicted xD
Well that’s my storytime for today –
Check out Chris’ Instagram for an awesome array of colorful flowers and B/W detailed work here!
So before I go, I wanted to give a quick shutout to Toronto-based shop MarqueeNoir. I teamed up with them to get you guys a code so you can get your own comfy and cozy fall apparel!
Not only is MarqueeNoir’s line so perfectly my style – minimal, muted and comfy – but they’re environmentally concious! If you see anything you like on their website (Marqueenoir.com), use the code bookishwanderer to get 15% off 🙂 For every order, the team at MarqueeNoir plants a tree.
Their clothes are perfect for the chilly cold weather with their over-sized sweaters and comfy tees. Plus, the inside is sooo soft!! Dare I say softer than anything I’ve ever bought from Brandy Melville? Whether you’re planning on spending this fall in cold classrooms with inexplicably no heater, going on adventures out in the colorful outdoors or cozying up with a book or netflix, be sure to check them out 😀
. . .
Well that’s all for me today. I loved hearing about all your tattoo stories on my last tattoo post – any new ones you got since then? Let me know in the comments below! Hope you all a good week, see you Wednesday <3
