Book Aesthetics Tag

Hey everyone!

Soo I had so much fun doing my last aesthetics tag that I really wanted to do another! This one is called The Book Aesthetic Tag annd I first saw this tag over at Beth’s blog, Reading Every Night! it’s gorgeous and definitely makes me want to add some of her choices to my reading list so after you;re done here, go ahead and check her version out! Basically, according to the questions in the tag, you have to answer it accordingly and make an aesthetic to go along with it! 🙂

For now – let’s get into it!

Book Aesthetics Tag

Rules:

  • Thank whoever nominated you (maybe you’re bitter that you have another tag to do on top of the billions you already need to do (#relatable), still though. Someone thought of you. Be thankful. At least pretend to be.)
  • Credit the creator of this tag; Michelle at The Writing Hufflepuff.
  • There’s no limit of how many aesthetics you can make for a question, but think of your poor readers.
  • Make your own aesthetics, please don’t steal them from someone else. Also what’s the fun in that?

Favorite Book of the Year

I know the question says ‘of the year’ annd I’d totally go with Outlander (though is that really a surprise?) buut since I’m shamefully planning on using Outlander for some other questions, I wanted to go by one of my favorite books ever. And that goes tooo ‘Unwind‘ by Neil Shusterman!

A Character you Relate to a Lot

This one probably has to go to Elena Michaels in Kelly Armstrong’s Bitten (and Otherworld Series). I mean, I might not be a werewolf – even though that’d be really cool – but I really relate to Elena’s personality. She’s loyal to her pack even when certain ex-boyfriends makes being loyal seriously complicated, a passionate writer, strong and loves to go running..oh and she also is always described as being simple in hair/makeup/fashion whiich I feel like you never in a picture perfect heroine. I’m so dysfunctional when it comes to attempting to put a full face of makeup on so it was refreshing to see a powerful heroine with the same cosmetic clumsyness xD

A Character you Look Up to

Okay…here it comes xD I definitely say Claire Fraser, from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander! She’s so strong, smart and sexy. Everything she does is for love and survival. When Claire is faced with a tough situation, she knocks back a shot (or a couple), takes a deep breath and does what she needs to do. Oh and she swears like a sailor and doesn’t let anyone tell her how unladylike it is. Before being the character we’re introduced to in the book/show, Claire was a combat nurse in WW2 and I think it’s so awesome how we see her apply these skills in the first book grow and develop later in the series! I always thought if I wasn’t so passionate and interested in writing, I might be interested in being a paramedic. So reading about Claire is really inspiring!

An Underrated Gem

I totally don’t see this book talked about enough so I’m gunna give it another shout out! Of Poesidon by Anna Banks :p Everything from the hilarious one liners to the very cool descriptions, interesting lore of the Syrena and those gorgeous covers make for a seriously awesome book that deserves more readers!

A Character that Deserves More Love

Noot to be repetitive..but the one character that kept coming to mind in this category was Frank Randall, also from Outlander! What made Diana Gabaldon’s writing even more amazing was the struggle we experienced wiith Claire when she begins falling for Jaime, despite being married to Frank. It could be a seriously cheesy, easy read if Frank was this horrible person. However, since we see an all-but perfect husband before Claire travels through the stones, it makes her feelings and ultimate choice to be with Jaime all the more painful…I mean honestly. Anyone up against Jaime is an automatic lose xD But anyway, since he is after all a really good, honorable man, let’s give him some love here!

An Underrated OTP

If you’re onlyy a fan of the show and never read the books..then you wouldn’t know that Damon Salvatore and Bonnie Bennett of LJ Smith’s Vampire Diaries had a pretty interesting flirationship. They both admit they’re attracted to each other and ‘find something that pulls them to each other’ which makes Damon end up being quite loyal to Bonnie (sorta like what you see come season 6 of the show!) but it’s a lot more apparent and intense in the books! If Delena wasn’t a thing…I’m sure Bamon would have a solid chance!

Sooo just like Beth – I wasn’t directly tagged for this thing but really enjoyed doing it! Therefore if you’re like us and love to read/do aesthetics, go ahead and give it a shot 😀 I’m hopingg soon to do one for my WIP book but not sure – would you be interested in that!?

Anyway that’s all for me tonight, let me know what you thought of this tag in the comments down below and answer this: do you enjoy aesthetics? :p Goodnight all!

-Mel xx

  1. Oh I’m so glad you decided to take part in this tag Melissa, and I loved your aesthetics as well. 😀
I was a massive fan of the Women of the Otherworld series when it was first released (the books, haven’t gotten around to the TV show yet), and actually I still really enjoy them. Elena is a great character, and definitely a great choice for the character you identify with too.
I have Unwind on my to-read list, along with every other book Neal Shusterman has released to date. One day I’ll get around to it but seeing you’ve added it as your favourite read of the year certainly makes me more excited to get around to it. 🙂
    Again great aesthetics. 😀
