Hey everybody!
Yes, you read that URL right, The Bookish Wanderer is officially self-hosted! 🙂 It took me a couple months to decide but here we are, it’s been done thanks to the help of a really awesome friend.
I’m also looking into redesigning my header and making a page specifically to serve as my writing portfolio but that’s still a WIP. Thanks so much for continuing to read my blog and listening to my rambles because I certainly wouldn’t have gone self-hosted if it hadn’t been for all of you!
For today’s post, I wanted to share an all-new Soundtrack Saturday!

I am obsessed with movie scores- anything by James Newton Howard or Hans Zimmer. My favorites are Maleficent, The Hunger Games, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Thanks for sharing your favorite game music; I may give it a try!
Yaaay 🙂 Hans Zimmer is an amazing composer!
Are you going self hosted?? That’s so exciting Mel!! 😄
I listen to some game soundtracks. Undertale was one I really got into 😄
Yees! :3 Oh Undertale’s soundtrack is great!
OMG I love everything about Life Is Strange!! 🙂
Me toooo!
John Williams, Michael Giachinno are great composers. My wife got me into classical when we were kids in high scholl, holy crap that makes me sound old, and I grew a new appreciation of music through her. I went from heavy punk to screamo then discovered Muse… ahhh, Muse. Before I knew it, there was a new appreciation for Soundtracks then video games into’d me to Michael Giachinno (Medal of Honor) and then to John Williams. Lindsey Striling made it on the list too. The video game industry has been the saving grace of after school music programs.
Its absolutely true. When you think composers you probably think of Bach or something but some many people these days including myself are interested in piano lessons all because of beautiful scores from games I/we love. Thank you for sharing! I too did a total 180 with music..i love hair bands from the 80’s and 90’s grunge but gaming music is still my favourite genre to write to!
